I just preordered my limited-edition hardcover copy of Swashbuckler’s of the 7 Skies and have downloaded the pdf.

Yes, I’m giddy. Yes, I’m excited. Yes, I’ll be consuming it voraciously by sundown.

Yeah, I’m not as clever as I thought. Ah well.

I shall nevertheless display good form and congratulate the winners, thank Fred and Chad for the opportunity, and hope that I have enough $$ to nab the preorder once the taxes are paid.

And if that doesn’t work out, I’ll go drink 7 bottles of Skyy and see if that helps.

Actually, earlier today I was toying with sharing the Who Swashes the Swashmen? image from Fred’s journal, but before I got around to it they announced the contest, so now I’m sharing that instead.

I’m gonna try to work in some time to do this – and if you have an artistic itch, you should too. I won’t even be sad if your design ends up kicking mine in the teeth.

Driving Blind – Coming … Soon?

Fred Hicks gives us a sneak peak of the cover design for Chad Underkoffler’s Swashbucklers of the 7 Skies.

I’ve said it before. I’ll sure as hell be saying it again. Pirates, musketeers, mysticism, intrigue, and FLYING SHIPS? Yeah, could there be any more perfect mix of setting elements for me? And isn’t that cover design so darn evocative that it just makes you feel like diving head-first with steel drawn into the vast possibilities it offers?

My only worry is that once I get this thing and start playing it, I might never ever come back to the real world.
