I actually painted an actual painting over the past few days. Wha-WHAT??

Yep. Still here. Still creating. Still transforming.

I call it “Alchymi 2010″, and I think it’s my favorite painting of anything I’ve done. And yes, The Maker and the Sage are currently resting in the top corners.

I am, as Leah will tell you, on a bit of an alchemy kick these days. I think alchemy as a metaphorical concept rocks the rafters. You probably haven’t heard me use the word for the last time.

I like the colors. It looks very metallic – are they metallic inks, or is that due to the camera flash? How big is it? Also I was thinking of alchemy and art together the other day when I was looking at fountain pen ink. Such an archaic connection to the act of writing – and they are still out there, thousands of little bottles, with amazing illustrations and whimsical names. I am getting into filling my own fountain pens with various inks. It’s an amazing niche. ( One ink example: http://www.pendemonium.com/ink_noodler.htm )

    Thanks!

I used acrylics in metallic lead, bronze, copper, gold, and silver, and overlaid that with reds, oranges, etc. to simulate fire. The flash does mess it up somewhat, mostly in the top center, which in actuality is mostly gold with some silver highlighting.

Love it! Yes alchemy rocks, it is a theme that is also often tied to the Tarot. Keep creating.
