maker-mask

What’s a good way to alleviate the pain and loss of a destroyed monkey mask? Get back up, dust yourself off, and make another mask.

Appropriately, I chose to work on “The Maker”, one of the seven mask-deities I’m planning to create to go along with the world of The Scarlet Masque. In the setting, she is the maiden of inspiration, creativity, craft, and ingenuity. She is the the patroness of the city of Circe d’Ottone, and is composed of aes hepatizon, a rare and valuable alloy of copper, silver, and gold.

In the image at right the mask isn’t finished yet, but it’s going very well. Granted, this mask is pre-formed plastic that I bought at the craft store, so there’s no paper-mache for me to screw up. But the painting and decorating are shaping up nicely, and her personality is beginning to emerge.

I’ll post about her again when she’s finished.

Dammit, Bradley! Every time I read your blog, I feel like a lazy, uncreative schmuck. How do you come up with these wonderful toys?

If you feel that way, dude, you must be reading the wrong blog. :)

Love the mask! Love it! Keep up the great work.
